The aesthetic application made by injecting hyaluronic acid, a soluble biocompatible material, in order to give the lips a more voluminous appearance, is called lip augmentation. It is a very common aesthetic application. In clinical conditions, hyaluronic acid injection is performed by numbing the lips with a local anesthetic cream. Although different substances are used in lip fillings, the most applied substance is hyaluronic acid.
